AC to DC Voltage Calculator

DC Voltage: — V

How to Use the AC to DC Voltage Converter Tool

This tool is designed to help you convert Alternating Current (AC) voltage into Direct Current (DC) voltage using various rectification methods.

Steps to Use:

  1. Enter the AC voltage value in volts (V) into the provided input field.
  2. Choose the type of rectifier from the dropdown menu:
    • Half-Wave Rectifier
    • Full-Wave Rectifier
  3. Click the "Calculate" button to obtain the corresponding DC voltage.
  4. The result will be displayed, and a graph will illustrate the comparison between the input AC voltage and the output DC voltage.

Formulas Used

The conversion from AC to DC depends on the rectification method. The formulas used in this tool are as follows:

  1. Half-Wave Rectifier
    A half-wave rectifier permits only one half of the AC waveform to pass through, effectively blocking the other half. The formula used is:

Bilkul! Main formulas ko simple text me explain kar deta hoon taake aap asani se WordPress blog post me likh sakein.

Half-Wave Rectifier Formula

Half-wave rectifier sirf AC signal ka aadha hissa pass hone deta hai. Iska formula hai:

V_DC = (V_AC / √2) × 1/2

Jahan:

  • V_DC = Output DC voltage
  • V_AC = Input AC voltage
  • √2 (square root of 2) ki value 1.414 hoti hai

Example:
Agar input 220V AC ho, to:
V_DC = (220 / 1.414) × 1/2 = 77.78V DC

Full-Wave Rectifier Formula

Full-wave rectifier dono positive aur negative cycles ka use karta hai, is wajah se output zyada hoti hai. Iska formula hai:

V_DC = V_AC / √2

Jahan:

  • V_DC = Output DC voltage
  • V_AC = Input AC voltage
  • √2 ki value 1.414 hai

Example:
Agar input 220V AC ho, to:
V_DC = 220 / 1.414 = 155.56V DC

Difference Between Half-Wave & Full-Wave Rectifier

Rectifier TypeFormulaOutput DC VoltageEfficiency
Half-Wave(V_AC / √2) × 1/2Lower (77.78V for 220V AC)Less Efficient
Full-WaveV_AC / √2Higher (155.56V for 220V AC)More Efficient

How Graphs Work in This Tool

  • The bar chart visually compares the input AC voltage (before conversion) and the output DC voltage (after conversion).
  • It illustrates how different rectifiers impact the output voltage.
  • Colors:
    • Yellow Bar: Represents AC Voltage.
    • Red Bar: Represents DC Voltage.
  • The graph updates dynamically each time a new calculation is performed.
